Whether you have neck pain, sciatica, range of motion issues or terrible headaches that keep you from enjoying life, the cause is all the same: subluxation in your spine putting pressure on the nerves. The subluxation is a lack of motion in the spine. This not only can cause degenerative changes in the joint but puts pressure on the nerves at the joint affecting the tissue they control. It’s like when your leg falls asleep and you can’t move it or feel it. This happens not only to the nerves that we can feel but also to the ones we can’t such as the ones that innervate your intestines. Instead of that numb tingling feeling, you get stomach issues, constipation, or even pain.

This answer is always 100%, every day of the week and twice on Sundays yes!! We restore motion to the joints, taking pressure off the nerves allowing the body to heal and relieving pain. This again varies by the patient according to history, level of degeneration and complicating factors. We can’t fix 10 years of back pain with one adjustment. The body takes time to heal. We are not simply putting a bone back in place, we are restoring motion to an injured joint because that is how it heals. Our initial plan is usually 3 times per week for 8 weeks then 1 time per week for 8 weeks. This has proven to be the best care plan for getting our patients well. If you break a bone, you will wear a cast for 8-10 weeks. That’s just how long it takes the body to heal. We also are changing the way the joint moves so we need to keep motion in it. If you wanted to build muscle and only lifted at the gym once a week, you wouldn’t see much of change. Same with adjusting the spine. We then move into the 1x per week for 8 weeks as retainer visits. Just like with people who wear braces, if you don’t use a retainer the joints may go back to how they moved before care.

This also varies by insurance companies. Our charge for an adjustment is $50 but maybe cheaper depending on insurance. We also have our patients get x-rays so that I can see the joints. We refer out to Jennie Edmundson Hospital and they have their own fees also depending on insurance.
